An Interim Structural Design Approach
Post-installed rebar is often used to extend, rehabilitate, and strengthen existing concrete structures. It can be used in multiple types of construction such as concrete bridges, commercial high-rises, school buildings, water treatment facilities, or other common civil or structural engineering structures. In this session, we will review the design provisions in ACI 318 Chapter 25 and 17 which are being utilized for post-installed rebar design. In addition, we will discuss alternative research-based design methods for concrete-to-concrete connections that exist to support engineers in scenarios where their application design does not fit into the model code design provisions.
