Reduced Embedment for HVU2

scenario is we are to install overhead fastening using M20, instead of the usual RE500v3, we would be proposing the use of the capsule type HVU2. however, designer is not so flexible when it comes to embedment depth of 150mm only. what happens when we install HVU2 M20, that should be having embedment depth of 170mm reduced only to 150mm? could we have calculation report or any supporting document for this?

Hi Philip. Thanks for the question. Based on Table 7 of ESR-4372 (see attached), the effective embedment depth of HVU2 adhesive capsule system for M20 is 170mm which is fixed and is not variable. Therefore, you cannot use the HVU2 with reduced embedment depth.

I suggest to use either a mechanical anchor like HST4 or the injection system RE500v3 + HAS Rod with the aid of piston plug. See attached overhead installation instruction for RE500v3.
