Over-Drilling of Holes (Embedment Depth)

Over-Drilling of Holes (Embedment Depth)

-As per design, the required embedment depth is 200 mm. However, due to over-drilling, the hole ended up with a depth of 300 mm (an extra 100 mm).

Question:
-Can the extra 100 mm be filled with RE 500 V3, allowed to cure, and then proceed with installing the anchor at the correct 200 mm embedment depth?
-In this case, the bottom 100 mm epoxy would serve as a substitute for concrete. Is this acceptable?
-Kindly provide a technical reference supporting this approach, if available.

Hi Yves thank you for the question.

Yes it is possible to fill the hole with RE500v3 up to the desired depth as long as the concrete has a lower compressive strength compared to RE500v3 which has a compressive strength of 82.7Mpa. Make sure that the RE500v3 mortar will be fully cured before injecting again the new mortar. See attached screenshot for the compressive strength of the RE500v3.
