Hi Roger. Thank you for reaching out. Do you mean you want to replace the Hilti T-bolt nut to a smaller non-Hilti nut to obtain the 3 thread requirement?

Our Hilti Anchor channel together with the t-bolt with appropriate nut and washer works as a system which is designed for optimal performance which is mentioned in the product's approval (see attached screenshot from ETA). The capacity of the connection using the Hilti anchor channel and t-bolts are calculated using the PROFIS Engineering software. The software uses the data in the product's approval to compute the capacities which also considers the T-bolt with nut and washer. The nut and washer considered has a specific standard indicated in the approval (see attached screenshot from ETA). Any deviation outside the recommendation and calculation report will be subjected as an Engineering judgement on your designer's part.

I suggest to obtain your required 3 thread protrusion, is to change the length of the t-bolt. Please send us an email to phengineering@hilti.com so that we could recommend an alternative t-bolt for you.

Hi Sir. Carlo, Thank you for your immediately response on this matter, this issues and concern was raised on Sept. 2023. The curtain Wall panel was already installed. That's why we can't change a longer T-Bolts to obtain 3 thread protrusions.

Any suggestion sir? exclude for changing the length of the T-Bolts? conducting torque test to tightening the nuts to bolts is not included for the solutions? in our case, we can't dismantling our installed panels due to unacceptable permitted tolerance for threaded bolts. because this was already Handover to Client. our needs documents is just to prove that changing nuts won't have a big impact for installed Panel Glass.
