What is the Difference between ACI and ETAG Code

ACI stands for American Concrete Institute. ACI code is followed in countries like United States, Philippines. The code document used for ACI is ESR (Evaluation Service Report)

ETA stands for European Technical Assessment, ETA is used when Euro code(ETAG/EN) is used for design. Euro code is used in countries like India, Singapore, Malaysia, most of the European countries. Both Euro and American code provisions are almost equally precise but developed by different countries.

The design procedure is same for both the code provisions, but differ in representation, for example concrete grade in ETA is represented as MPa whereas in ACI it is represented as psi. Similarly, anchor size in ETA is represented as mm where as in ACI it is represented in inches. The major difference between ETA and ACI codes is unit representation.
